Nano Coating for Shoes and Sneakers: Private Label and Factory Supply for the Footwear Industry
Vetro Power supplies the footwear industry with one coating: Vetro Power Textile Protect, a water-based silicon dioxide (SiO2) nano coating that is PFOA-free and PFAS-free. Sprayed onto a finished upper, it makes leather, suede, nubuck, sheepskin, imitation leather, canvas, cotton, nylon, mesh and knit repel water, oil and dirt without changing the look, feel or breathability of the material. It is the same coating sold at retail as the Vetro Power Footwear Protector and Suede & Nubuck Protector trigger sprays, and it is available to shoe brands, factories and retailers in three ways.
Three ways to work with Vetro Power
1. Private label
Your brand on our formulation, filled in trigger sprays or supplied in bulk, with the data sheets issued in your name. For shoe-care brands, retailers with an own label, and distributors. What you get and how an order runs.
2. Factory finish
Applied on your own line to the finished shoe. HVLP spray gun at 2 to 3 bar, two to three wet-on-wet coats, 20 to 50 ml per square metre depending on the material. Hand-dry in minutes at room temperature, full cure in 24 hours, so boxing is not held up. Supplied in bulk with application guidance for your operators.
3. Retail and service
Shoe retailers, sneaker cleaners, hotels and clubs stock the trigger spray or apply the coating as a paid protection service at the point of sale. Odourless, colourless and dry to the touch in minutes, so it can be applied on the shop floor before the customer leaves.
Every option is backed by the same published test results, listed in plain words further down this page. Contact us with your material, volume and market and we will come back with a recommendation.
Private label shoe protector spray: what you get
Most shoe protector sprays on the market are bottled for a brand by a contract filler that does not publish test data. With Vetro Power a private label partner gets the formulation, the test reports and the filled packaging from one supplier.
Packaging options: what you can order
Footwear is one arm of the Vetro Power OEM programme. The full private label offer, kits and bulk options across all our coatings are on the Create Your Own Nano Coatings Brand page, with the OEM brochure (PDF).
How a private label order runs
Minimum order quantities and lead times depend on pack size and are confirmed at the enquiry stage. Start an enquiry.
Footwear materials Vetro Power Textile Protect is designed for
The coating is made for natural and synthetic textiles, suede, nubuck, sheepskin, leather and imitation leather, and for finished mesh shoes. On every one of these the water-based SiO2 formula bonds to the fibre or grain and dries invisible.
What changes on the shoe, and what does not
Wear and washing slowly reduce the effect; the coating can be re-applied at any time to restore it. Test on a hidden area first on any new material.
Applying it, and what it does
Tested performance, in plain words
Buyers at shoe brands ask for test reports, not adjectives. These are the tests Vetro Power Textile Protect has passed, with what each one means on a shoe. Test reports are available on request with private label and factory supply enquiries.
Questions shoe brands and distributors ask
Can we sell Vetro Power Textile Protect under our own brand?
Yes. Private label is one of the three ways we supply the footwear trade. You choose the product name and artwork; we fill the 100 ml or 250 ml trigger spray or supply bulk packs, and issue the brochure, technical data sheet and safety data sheet in your name.
What is the minimum order for a private label shoe protector spray?
It depends on the pack: filled trigger sprays and bulk drums have different minimums. Tell us the pack size and market in your enquiry and we confirm the minimum quantity and lead time in the reply.
Do you supply bulk for a factory line, and in what packs?
Yes. 1 L, 5 L, 25 L, 200 L and 1,000 L, ready-to-use or as a concentrate. Application on the line is by HVLP spray gun, two to three wet-on-wet coats, 20 to 50 ml per square metre.
Will it darken suede or change the colour of the upper?
No. The coating is colourless and dries invisible, so suede, nubuck and coloured leather keep their look, and the nap stays soft. It also improves colour fastness. Test on a hidden area of any new material before treating a batch.
Can it be used on white sneakers, canvas and mesh?
Yes. Canvas, cotton, nylon, mesh and knit are in the list of materials the coating is designed for, and it leaves no film, so white uppers stay white and mesh stays breathable.
Does it affect breathability or the feel of the shoe?
No. The coating bonds to the fibre rather than sealing the surface, so air and moisture still pass through and the material does not stiffen.
How long does the protection last?
In the laboratory the coated textile passed 5,000 Martindale abrasion cycles and 550 hours of xenon weathering, about five years of sunlight, with its repellency intact. On a shoe, wear and washing slowly reduce the effect; re-apply when water stops beading.
Is it PFAS-free, and does it meet Oeko-Tex and ZDHC?
Yes. It is PFOA-free and PFAS-free, verified as PFC-free by UNI CEN/TS 15968:2010, and conforms to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, ZDHC MRSL v2.0 and REACH. Test reports are available on request.
Can our factory in Vietnam, Indonesia, Portugal or India apply it?
Yes. It needs an HVLP spray gun and room temperature; no curing oven or special equipment. We supply application guidance for the line, and the coating is water-based, so it is not a flammable liquid for shipping or storage.
What documents come with a private label or factory order?
Brochure, technical data sheet and safety data sheet under your brand name, plus the test reports behind the performance claims on this page.
