VP Textile Protect Nanocoating is a specialized protective textile nanocoating designed to provide exceptional liquid repellency and resistance to water, oils, stains, and other substances. It is formulated to maintain the softness and breathability of textiles while offering superior protection.

Open or Close What surfaces can VP Textile nanocoating be used on?

VP Textile Protect Nanocoating is versatile and suitable for various surfaces including cotton, wool, polyester, nylon, and leather. Whether it's natural or synthetic textiles, this coating offers effective protection.

Open or Close How long does the textile coating last?

The durability of the coating is impressive, providing long-lasting protection against stains and oil. Under normal conditions, it maintains its effectiveness over an extended period, ensuring sustained protection for treated surfaces.

Open or Close Is the VP Textile coating transparent? Will it change the look of the surface?

Yes, the coating is transparent and does not alter the original appearance of the surface. It preserves the look and feel of fabrics while providing an effective barrier against stains and oil, ensuring the integrity of the surface remains unchanged.

Open or Close What is the average coverage area for the VP textile coating?

The coverage area typically ranges between 20 and 50 ml/m², depending on the absorbency of the surface and the application method used. This ensures efficient use of the product while achieving optimal protection for treated textiles.

Open or Close What are the right tools to use to apply the coating?

Whether applying industrially or manually, VP Textile Protect Nanocoating can be easily applied using industrial spray devices. It's important to ensure even coverage for effective protection.

Process: HVLP-compressed air
Spray gun: e.g. SATA minijet HVLP
Working pressure: ca. 2–3 bar
Nozzles: 0.8–1.3 mm

The spray gun can be cleaned with n-butyl acetate, for example. Test on a small area or apply a test coat before application.

Open or Close What condition does the substrate need to be prior to application?

Prior to application, ensure the surface is clean and free of dust, grease, and residues of cleaning agents. Conducting a stability and functionality test on an inconspicuous area is recommended for optimal results.

Open or Close What is the application process & curing period?

The application process involves spraying the coating onto the textile surface, ensuring 2-3 wet-on-wet applications for optimal protection. The complete hardening is achieved with a 24-hour drying period at ambient temperature.

Open or Close What are the safety instructions & precautions to take during application?

During application, it's important to ensure adequate ventilation and avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wearing protective clothing and gloves is recommended. Also, avoid processing in extreme weather conditions.

Open or Close Will the coating discolour, crack, or peel off?

Open or Close Where can I purchase the VP textile coating?

You can acquire our products directly from us or our dealer network globally. If you're interested, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.

Open or Close Does the product come in a concentrate form? If so, is this to be diluted with Water or Alcohol? How long does this take to cure & dry?

The coating is a water-based concentrate, that is only to be prepared with deiniosed water. As soon as the ready-to-use product is applied and the surface is hand-dry (as soon as the carrier liquid water is evaporated), the textile surface, e.g. carpets, sofas or chairs can be used again. The product is used in commercial applications in hotels, as well as in health institutions during daily cleaning & maintainance routine. The textile surfaces as e.g. carpet or upholstery are used again as usual as soon as they are hand-dry. Depending on the ambient temperature, this can only takes a few minutes. Becoming hand-dry, i.e. the carrier liquid water evaporates, can be accelerated by additional warmth (heater / hair dryer).  The 24 hours as indicated in the product information only refer to the period the product needs to fully cure on the surface, before the performance examination with substances such as juice or other staining substances is tested & for enhanced longevity.
