Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis is a clear, ready-to-use coating that protects metal surfaces graffiti, dirt, weathering and corrosion. Based on a polysilazane technology, this nano-coating forms a long-lasting barrier layer that bonds chemically with the substrate and cures at room temperature with atmospheric humidity. The protected surface can be cleaned repeatedly without reapplying the product.

The coating is particularly suitable for smooth, non-absorbent surfaces, such as one- or two- component paints (polyurethane or epoxy systems), polyester paints, GRP surfaces, but furthermore particularly for metal surfaces like aluminium, zinc, stainless steel, copper and several alloys (e.g. brass and bronze). Suitable applications include:

Open or Close How long does the coating last?

This coating has been engineered to remain effective for up to 5 years even in toughest conditions. The nano-coating is very temperature resistant and can tolerate temperatures of -50°C to over 300°C.  For optimal protection, re-application is recommended every 4-5 years.

Open or Close Is the coating transparent? Will it change the look of the surface?

The coating is neither a matt or gloss finish; but is a clear & transparent coating that is invisible post application. There is no colour change or darkening or altering the look of the surface material; and this will not change over time.

Open or Close What is the average coverage area for the coating?

This coating has a very high coverage rate. The average coverage area is 12-15 ml/m2.

Open or Close What are the right tools to use to apply the coating?

Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis is supplied ready-to-use. Depending on the substrate the coating can be applied with microfiber applicators or paint rollers (microfiber-flocking). The product is also suitable for spray application. The product should be applied by trained personnel only. Spray application is highly recommended.

The spray gun can be cleaned with n-butyl acetate, for example. Test on a small area or apply a test coat before application.

Open or Close What condition does the substrate need to be prior to application?

The substrate to be coated must be clean, grease-free and absolutely dry. Areas which are difficult to reach, such as cavities or drainage channels etc. must be dried additionally with absorbent cloths or blown dry with compressed air. On contact with a damp substrate surface, the nano-coating reacts prematurely and cannot form a permanent seal. The substrate temperature must be between + 5°C and + 30°C, the relative humidity at 30%-80%. 

Open or Close What is the application process & curing period?

Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis must be applied at an ambient temperature of at least + 5°C and a relative humidity of 30%-80%. Avoid direct sunlight! Apply the coating in dry conditions and never in rain. The coating is applied with an applicator. Any mistakes can be rectified within approx. 10 min of application. After this the repellent effect of the nano-coating makes it impossible to apply another coat. The average coverage is 15 ml/m2 and this should not be significantly exceeded. During application, only small quantities should be decanted from the original container into the application container. Residues of unused nano-coating should not be returned from the application container to the original container. Traces of water in the applicator should also be avoided. Applicators dampened with water should not be used. If dirt appears on the applicators during coating, they should be replaced with clean applicators to avoid dirt entering the coating. The applicators cannot be reused once the coating has been applied. If the solution in the application container solidifies or a deposit forms, it can no longer be used. Solutions that are no longer usable must be disposed of properly. Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis is dry-to-touch after about one hour.

For larger areas/plain metal surfaces/corrosion protection we strongly recommend to applicate under clean room conditions! 

The recommended curing conditions (until water resistant) are:
Room temperature: 8-12 hours
80°C: 2 hours
130°C – 180°C: 1 hour

The coating is fully effective after 5–7 days’ curing at room temperature. On metal surfaces such as aluminium, steel and stainless steel, curing at > 80°C is recommended to achieve optimum adhesion to the substrate.  

Open or Close What are the safety instructions & precautions to take during application?

The product should be applied by trained personnel only. The instructions on the accompanying Safety Data Sheet must always be followed. 

Open or Close Can I paint over the coating?

No, as in the majority of cases the nano-coating will immediately reject any paint applied on top of it.

Open or Close Will the coating discolour, crack or peel off?

No, Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis is UV resistant and will not be affected by the sun or weather conditions. Once fully cured over 5-7 days, the nano-coating forms a very strong bond with the substrate material and is extremely difficult to remove. Thus, it cannot discolour, crack or peel off at any stage.

Open or Close Can I remove the coating to paint/repaint the surface?

Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis is not easy to remove. It is designed as a long term, permanent protection to last up to 5 years and has a very strong bond on any surface coated. If required to be removed, sanding or lightly grinding the coating off is recommended. Chemical cleaners or acid will not remove the coating.

Open or Close How do I clean the surface / remove graffiti post the coating?

Surfaces coated with Vetro Power Nano-Dynamis should be cleaned with cleaners in the pH range 3–12. Strong (mineral) acids or alkalis should be avoided and are also unnecessary as neutral cleaners are generally sufficient to clean coated surfaces.
